main selection of the Executive Book Club.
Dr. Pell was selected from a list of prominent business authors
to write the first revised edition of Dale Carnegie's classic How
To Win Friends and Influence People, which was later named
the #1 Leadership Book of the 20th Century by Business Life
Magazine. His popular column, The Human Side, was
published in 170 magazines throughout the world for twelve
The co-founder of Harper Associates, the well-known career
management firm with offices throughout the United States, he
also created and conducted a host of nationally-recognized
seminars in various aspects of human resources management
for Dun and Bradstreet's Business Education Services
attended by over 300,000 managers and executives in all 50
states and other parts of the world.
The recipient of several important literary, teaching and
community awards, Dr. Pell appeared on The Today Show,
Good Morning America and dozens of TV and radio talk
shows; and served on the faculties of New York University, The
City University of New York and St. John's University. He held
a Ph.D. in business administration, plus an M.A. in
psychology and B.A. in economics from New York University,
and a professional diploma in counseling psychology from
Cornell University. The father of two children and the
grandfather of three, Dr. Pell and his wife, Erica, lived in
Westchester, New York until his death on May 23, 2013. More
